Garvin Dean Project
is primarily a four piece jazz ensemble- occasionally we feature guest artists to enhance our sound. We can provide straight ahead to contemporary jazz music for any size venue. We're made up of piano/keyboards, jazz guitar, electric bass, drums, and on occasion saxophone, trumpet and percussion.

Garvin Dean
formed by Garvin Dean in 1999 came together again in 2005 to do a gospel/jazz project. Garvin Dean is a native Huntsville, AL, and it was there, growing up on the campus of Oakwood College that he developed his love of music. Growing up in a musical family, to him writing and performing music only seemed natural. The band is currently based out of the Charlotte, NC area, but has enjoyed performing all across the US from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles, CA.

John Gurske
At the University of Wisconsin,he was mentored in Richard Davis' unique Black Music Ensemble and has performed at various venues throughout Charlotte including the Blumenthal Arts Center, The Double Door, Evening Muse, and more.

Nick Reid
Jazz and gospel player extraordinaire is very busy Charlotte native musician. He's been playing since the age of four, and spend most of his time as a session musician in between gigs.

David Mallette, III
Jazz routed drummer from Raleigh, NC, he's played everything from Duke Ellington to Dr. Dre' and considers himself a perpetual music student- From time to time, you'll even find him behind a DJ booth.
